My Story
I have been a competitive athlete and fitness enthusiast as far back as I can remember. In high school I began swimming competitively and fell in love with the water. When I was sixteen I read Arnold Schwarzenegger's book, The Encyclopedia of Modern Body Building. At the time my mom had gone back to college so she would take me to the gym at the local college so I could lift weights. After high school I entered the US Marine Corps and continued my love of swimming by becoming an Instructor of Combat Water Survival, teaching other Marines to swim and survive in the water. This was my introduction to coaching and helping others to improve. The Marine Corps also introduced me to endurance sports. While in the military and the years that followed I competed in anything from Ironman triathlon, ultramarathons, long distance cycling and even multi day adventure races. Even to this day endurance sports are my first love but anything involving physical movement interests me. You might find me in a local Yoga class, swimming laps in the pool, attending the local cross-fit gym or kayaking around Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin, Texas. Physical movement is related to everything else we do in life.
As I age I have come to believe that physical movement is the key to feeling young and is related to everything else we do in life. I want to teach others to live their best lives. As a fitness professional I want to pass on what I have learned over an entire lifetime of fitness, movement and nutrition.
Coaching and training highlights
As a nutrition coach I take a no frills, realistic approach to what we put in our bodies.
